Plague Ship

The second Dane Thorson Solar Queen adventure for teens. A third volume, Voodoo Planet, appeared as half an Ace Double in 1959 backed with Plague Ship.

My copy with the tan cloth came with two dust jackets. The top one was encased in a mylar protector but the second one is either a nice facsimile or the most vibrantly-colored Gnome cover I’ve ever seen. My scans below don’t do it justice. It is a vivid blue, sharp and clean, testimony to the worth of keeping colors away from the air for decades. If this was a production mistake, it’s a wonderful blunder for the one and only time in Gnome history.
